Jump Training & Conditioning
One of Impact's former players, who went on to play college volleyball, gives freely of her time to better the athletes in the areas of jump training and conditioning.
Ellie Van Laar, a 2018 senior at Cornerstone University says -
"When I was young, Coach Rey as well as another person saw my potential and offered to individually train me in my volleyball skills. That was huge in building my confidence because they both believed in me and wanted me to grow. As I got older, the other guy took over my training when Impact was founded and I continued to build my skills. He never made me pay a cent because he told me it was rewarding enough to see me grow and watch me succeed. His attitude and generosity inspired me and I asked him how I could ever repay him for all of his time. He told me to pay my time forward to other girls in the future.
So holding on to what he said, when I was in high school, I was looking for anything that would help me get better. Rey connected me with a trainer he knew who created a program to help me increase my vertical. I saw so many improvements from it that it inspired me to give back through jump training like my previous trainer requested I do.
Once I got into my major in college of Exercise Science, I invited girls to join me in a conditioning program that I put together based on the knowledge I had gathered over my time in the field of kinesiology.
I am so passionate about fitness and helping others be the best they can be and am honored to have the opportunity to share this program with the athletes who want to learn and grow!"
